Romney Flip-Flops On Bailouts

Mitt Romney flip-flops on supporting bailouts.

"I think there is need for economic stimulus. Americans have lost about $11 trillion in net worth … And government can help make that up in a very difficult time." [CNN, Late Edition, 1/4/09]

"I have never supported the President's Recovery Act... No time, no where, no how have I supported the President's stimulus." [Romney Town Hall, Goffstown NH, 9/28/11]

Romney Owes Perry $10k

During the GOP candidate forum Saturday night, Mitt Romney showed he is an out-of-touch rich guy when he offered to be $10,000.  The Jon Huntsman campaign created the website 10kbet.com which answers the question, "Why Mitt Romney Owes Rick Perry $10,000".

Mitt could have wagered $10 or $100.  Mitt showed he is out of touch with the economic plight of most Americans.

Cost of Romney's Record Purge

Mitt Romney's purging government-owned records before he left office cost nearly $100,000.  Where are the handcuffs?  Where are the prosecutors?  Apparently there are different rules for the 1% elites.
Mitt Romney spent nearly $100,000 in state funds to replace computers in his office at the end of his term as governor of Massachusetts in 2007 as part of an unprecedented effort to keep his records secret, Reuters has learned.

Romney's Record Purge

Mitt Romney illegally purged electronic records before leaving office in Massachusetts. Why did he want to keep the public from accessing emails?
Romney had authorized the purging of emails and other closely-held electronic records at the end of administration.

Romney also allowed aides to buy and remove their government hard drives and authorized the replacement of leased computers in his executive offices.

Massachusetts officials say Mitt Romney violated state law, but they will not investigate:
McNiff also said Tuesday that the commonwealth would not pursue an inquiry into the purge of electronic records even though Massachusetts officials have concluded that state law required Romney's aides to have maintained the records.

The new ad released Monday is part of effort by Democrats to call attention to Romney's inconsistencies on a number of issues ...

Romney's Secret Emails

Before he left office, Mitt Romney destroyed records and emails contained on government computers.

Flip flops, Romneycare, destruction of government records ... Romney can not be trusted.

Past staffs recall no computer buybacks
Romney’s predecessors’ aides say removal was not standard practice

Top aides to the three Massachusetts governors who preceded Mitt Romney - all of them Republicans - said yesterday they know of no instance when state employees purchased their computer hard drive as they left the administration, as 11 of Romney’s aides did in 2006 as he was laying the groundwork for his first presidential campaign.
...
That’s almost unthinkable. It seems inherently a bad idea. You almost think you’d want to have a record of everything going on for the public.
...
11 of Romney’s aides purchased their state-issued hard drives and wiped e-mails from the server at the end of Romney’s term in 2006.

Mitt Romney Likes Fed Money Printing

Mitt Romney will not agree to support a full and complete audit of the Federal Reserve. In 2008, Mitt Romney even advocated for more money printing by the Federal Reserve.

A Republican Stimulus Plan
The Fed should continue to expand the money supply. And, it should confirm that it will not tolerate deflation — the pain of inflation pales in comparison.

Romney Is Empty Suit

Letter to editor from someone who knows Romney from Massachusetts and thinks Romney is an empty suit:

"Mitt Romney is just one more rich white man with a warped sense of himself derived from a life of privilege who actually believes he's entitled and destined to get whatever he wants. He's an empty suit."

Romney's Illegal Immigrants

Romney explains why he told his landscaping company to no longer use illegal immigrant labor at his home, "I'm running for office for Pete's sake." Not because it was the right thing to do, but because he was running for office and someone might recognize Mitt Romney is a chronic chameleon.

Romney Wants Foreclosures Accelerated

In a time of widespread homeowner suffering due to the economy and in some cases fraud by lenders, Mitt Romney wants to accelerate foreclosures.  There is a rule of law that governs foreclosures.  That Mitt Romney advocate ignoring the rule of law so financiers can scoop up houses at cheap prices shows an aspect of Mitt Romney that is unfavorable to the average American.

Mitt Romney supports the 1% bankers at the expense of the 99%.

Romney Employed Illegal Immigrants

Grants For Illegal Immigrant Employers

As Massachusetts Governor, Mitt Romney's government provided "$111,150 in state grants over the last four years to hire and train employees".  That employer was later raided by immigration officials because the employees were illegals.

Why would Mitt Romney allow the state government to use taxpayer funds to provide training to illegal immigrants?

Romney Is For Gays And Against Gays

Romney continues flip-flopping.  Is he a liberal, a conservative, both, or nothing?

"As a candidate for the U.S. Senate in 1994, he boasted that he would be a stronger advocate of gay rights than his opponent, Ted Kennedy. These days, he makes a point of his opposition to gay marriage and adoption.
...
People can change, and intransigence is not necessarily a virtue. But Romney has yet to explain this particular set of turnarounds in a way that convinces voters they are based on anything other than his own ambition."

Romney Supports The Federal Reserve

The Federal Reserve is not part of the government - they are like a subcontractor that Congress gave power to set the availability of money.

Of all the candidates at the Republican debate last night, Mitt Romney clearly supported the Federal Reserve. Mitt Romney agrees with the status quo and the Federal Reserve rip-off of America's money.

Mitt Romney defends the bankers and says, "We need to have a Fed"

Romney goes on to say he doesn't trust Congress. Maybe Romney thinks we should contract out all of Congress to his personal banker buddies.

Mitt Romney: Same old same old

This article from the Examiner in Charleston West Virginia describes "Mitt Romney as the miserable, political failure".

From the article:
Romney, more than any other candidate with the possible exception of Newt, represents the past ten years of miserable, political failure.

Goldman Sachs, whose members have contributed a whopping $231,000 to the Romney campaign so far this year.

... a Romney administration would continue to perpetuate the same disastrous financial and legal policies as previous administrations.

The money quote from the article:
Romney's own views are quite alarming...

Romney Is For War Then Against War

From Jack Hunter's review of the June 2011 GOP debate:
Perhaps most amusing was Romney, who said that the US military should not be used to fight for the independence of other nations. This was a complete reversal of his 2008 position when Romney thought that the primary purpose of the US military was to fight for the independence of other nations via his “No Apology” support for the Iraq War.
